Our Story
Starharbor Ratings began with a simple frustration: too many five-star reviews that read like adverts. So we built the review site we wanted to read — one where every visit is unannounced, every product is bought at retail, and every score is earned in front of you, with the workings shown.
Today our editors cover travel, food, creative gear, ideas, lifestyle and technology from our harbor-city newsroom. Businesses never pay for reviews and never see a score before publication. If that costs us access, so be it — our readers come first, every time.

Editorial Standards
- We pay our own way. Meals, stays, tickets and test products come out of our budget — never comped, never loaned with conditions.
- We test for at least two weeks. Quick unboxings are not reviews. Products live with us; places get repeat visits.
- Scores are averaged, not felt. Four sub-scores make the headline rating, published beside it so you can see the maths.
- No paid placement. Businesses cannot buy, boost or bury a review. Corrections are published with an editor's note.
