Pulse S2 Smartwatch: the fitness tracker we recommend
Dual-band GPS that matched our chest strap, a 14-day battery that survived a marathon block, and training insights without a subscription. We ran 210 kilometres on it.
Training with it
GPS accuracy is excellent: city routes with tall buildings tracked within 1% of a calibrated footpod, and heart-rate data stayed believable through intervals — no wild spikes at pace changes. Recovery and sleep scores proved genuinely useful, nudging rest days that matched how our legs actually felt.
Every training feature works without paying extra, which in 2026 feels almost rebellious. Workout plans, race predictions and route mapping are all included and export cleanly to the major platforms.
Daily life
- Fourteen days per charge with daily runs; closer to three weeks as a casual tracker.
- Bright always-on display, readable in direct sun on long rides.
- Smart features are basic — notifications and timers, no apps or voice assistant.
What we liked
- Superb GPS and HR accuracy
- Two-week battery life
- No subscription for training tools
What we didn't
- Thin smartwatch features
- Chunky on smaller wrists
The verdict
As a training partner it is superb; as a mini-phone on your wrist, look elsewhere. Runners and riders should shortlist it immediately. 4.2 out of 5.
